There are plenty of breathtakingly beautiful waterfalls that you should plan to visit by yourself or with your group during your stay at The Secret Ella. The panoramic Ella and Bandarawela are blessed with some of the most scenic and iconic waterfalls near Ella hotels in Sri Lanka.

Bambarakanda Falls also known as Bambarakele Falls is Sri Lanka’s tallest waterfall. Surrounded by a forest of pine trees, with a height of 263 m (863 ft) this amazing beauty of nature is ranked as the 299th highest waterfall in the world and can be directly seen from the A4 Highway. The legendary Ravana Falls most popularly known as Ravana Ella is the widest and most furious of waterfalls in Sri Lanka. It is believed historically that the Sri Lankan King Ravana kept Seetha, an Indian princess hidden here in a secret cave covered by this waterfall thus making the fall to be named after him. You can also visit nearby the Ellatota waterfall, a wonderful depiction of scenic beauty.

Another spectacular waterfall that is a must-see is the Diyaluma Falls which is the second-highest waterfall in Sri Lanka situated just 6 km away from Koslanda on Colombo-Badulla highway. If you like to travel a couple of hours from our hotel to see the most beautiful waterfall in Sri Lanka, you are sure to wind up with a treat with the charming Dunhinda Falls located about 5 km off Badulla town. The name comes from its character of falling as a smoky dew drops spray all around the area at the foot of the waterfall.
